I've done enough over the years. Dogs do perfectly well in a kennel for up to five hours. Particularly if they get tons of quality, energy-burning exercise before and after.Amaliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11348244857829524044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9760975.post-21540273942573199792008-06-10T18:18:00.000-06:002008-06-10T18:18:00.000-06:00Baby steps are exactly what is needed. There seemed to be a natural period when she matured enough to know the difference between the security of the kennel and the comfort of wide open spaces. We did kennel her in a bathroom with the doorway blocked with a 3 foot sheet of wood. She had her actual kennel to sleep in during the day but she could get out a stroll around and do her "bidness" with out getting into things she wasn't supposed to. Once she was potty trained I think that was when we let her have free roam of the house. I seem to recall we had very few incidences of her chewing things. She was a pretty good puppy, now an old grandma.Jack Hilkewichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15747128388020188152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9760975.post-19847153071072206462008-06-10T14:21:00.000-06:002008-06-10T14:21:00.000-06:00I'm going to try and let him out on a trial basis ...I'm going to try and let him out on a trial basis for short periods of time when I'm not at home. The other two never got used to a kennel b/c my Dad raised them and he believes in free range puppies. Oh how I wish they had been kenneled.Bronwynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18386091994745153450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9760975.post-72057956821064202392008-06-10T13:46:00.000-06:002008-06-10T13:46:00.000-06:00I think it's great that you kennel your dog, that ...I think it's great that you kennel your dog, that way he can't eat your ipod.teehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10609117648241454248noreply@blogger.com
