Mom

My Mom is the type who makes friends with strangers in line at the grocery store.
She gets upset when she sees an animal in a cage.
She cries at movies, TV shows, and sometimes commercials. I wanted to be like her so much when I was a kid that I forced myself to cry when watching the movie Grease in hopes that when she came into the room she would see me and know that we were the same. We're still the same.
My Mom keeps all her memories in a trunk and will share them if you ask.
She loves the Beatles and cried when John Lennon died.
She likes reading and watching Golf.
She gets carsick very easily. Just like me.
My Mom loves Christmas, and every year she would bake sugar cookies with my brother and I. When we were little she would let us decorate the tree how we wanted and then secretly move things when we went to bed so she wouldn't hurt our feelings. The clumps of tinsel on the bottom branches would always magically be gone by morning.
She is supportive and will listen when you need to talk.
She has a great sense of humour and knows there are times when you just have to laugh at yourself.
She has mellowed with age and has learned to just take things in stride.
My Mom is one of my best friends.
She is someone who I will always look up to.
She is kind and good and strong.

That's why I love her.
Happy Mother's day Mom.
