The aftermath

Un-kennel the dog: Phase 1, has been a success. I came home from work and found only a large piece of tissue paper chewed to bits and scattered throughout the kitchen, and the hand towel on the floor. Strangely enough, a baseboard had been partially removed from the wall. I'm not too sure what went on there. I blame the shoddy re-attaching job attempted by guy who installed my alarm. Despite a few mishaps, I am generally pleased. The destruction could have been a lot worse and there was neither poop, nor pee. Not that I've found anyways. I'm sure it will be a nice surprise if it does happen to turn up.

Un-kennel the dog: Phase 2(the morning) begins tomorrow.

Charlie had a first, too. She was home alone for 10 hours straight. She did well. Dragged her ass off the couch when I finally got home. (The cat seemed to have wreaked far more havoc, I'm guessing when he tried to catch our resident mouse).

So, either Charlie's matured a whole lot, or we could have been doing this the whole time.

Though I am going to spend a good chunk of time at the dog beach tomorrow to make up for it. My guilt is loads worse than any actual suffering endured by the dog. Oh well, works in her favour.

Yeah. There are a number of dog parks on the lake. Charlie loves a swim and Cherry Beach, just south of us, received a blue flag this year, meaning it's safe for swimming. But it is freakin' cold water. I'm not sure how she lasts.
