The date

I wish I had more to say about the date.  I wish I could say that he was awesome and we totally connected.  Or I wish I could say it was a train wreck so at least I would have a funny story.  But it was really pretty unremarkable.  He's nice.  We got along.  We had coffee.  It was....pleasant?  I guess pleasant describes it pretty well.  I wasn't repulsed so I guess that says something.  There wasn't anything wrong with it and that never happens.   So, maybe we'll go out again, who knows.  I'm pretty indifferent about the whole thing.

He's in marketing so, at the end, I gave him my business card and told him to call if he had any audio/visual staging needs.  Romantic, no?  So, I guess it was more like a business meeting than a date.

I wonder if I can expense it.

You know what? That is a good first date in my book. You'll have to see if he calls again. At least he seems normal which is HUGE.

That's exactly how Wade's and my first date went. It was... nice. Nothing remarkable. And Belle is right, normal is good.

does that mean you paid?

Hell yeah you can expense it! The fact that you didn't walk away from the date crying or wanting to punch someone, I'd call it a success. Sometimes I think it's better not to have a first date with fireworks, then you just end up sleeping together too soon and he ends up thinking you're a slore. Just me? Damn.

Pleasant is awesome! It beats weird, creepy, or awkward. Take pleasant and run with it!

Belle, May-B, Tee - Thanks! I guess normal is good. I'm so used to abnormal I'm not sure what to think.

erin - I didn't pay actually. Which sort of ruins the joke but, whatevs.

Hutch - Not just you, my friend. Not just you.
