Cold Turkey

Mmmm...turkey.

Well, I've done it. I've deleted both my online dating accounts and my hotmail account specifically set up for my wonderful online dating experience. The whole thing was making me uncomfortable and I just decided that I would rather meet guys in person. And if I don't meet guys in person, that's just the way it goes. I still have my dog. Who, honestly almost lost his little doggie life last night right in mid bark. I have no idea what was setting him off. Possibly the snow? I've decided to close my bedroom door tonight and see if that helps. If it doesn't, he will be able to bark at the snow all he wants because he will be sleeping in it.

Speaking of snow, guess what? When it snows outside the roads get slippery. Every year. Every single year this happens. EVERY. YEAR. It could not possibly be true that everyone driving today is a new driver or an immigrant who has never experienced winter before and doesn't listen to his wife when she says it's too cold to wash the car by hand in October despite the fact that it's sunny and ends up with frost bitten hands.

But I digress.

Why does everyone seem to forget that, when it snows, you need to slow down BEFORE you can read the license plate in front of you. Or, remember that time last year when you tried to sneak in that left turn because you were so super fast but your wheels couldn't get any traction on the ice and you almost died? I'm just saying, don't be surprised if this happens to you this year as well. Now, I'm not saying FOR SURE because I can't predict the future, but there really is a good chance.

Also, if instead of walking 5 steps to the corner you just run into traffic, don't be surprised if I hit you. Even if it's not slippery I will hit you.

Try me.

My worst winter road experience was on a OC Transpo bus whose driver apparently forgot the winter road rules. He went down a hill too fast, tried to turn at the bottom and slid across three lanes and into a parked car. fun fun fun.I live in Alaska now and people still seem to "forget" the rules of winter roads each year. Except me of course, I am prefect!ha

Ugh, I hate driving in snow. People are such assholes to me because I drive really slow and cautiously. I'd much rather be too slow and safe, then try to go faster than I'm able and wind up dead!
